First up, they're flexible and accommodating. From the off, communication was great. I had specific dates and preferences, and Alan (the boss) was clear, asked the right questions, offered relevant suggestions, and tailored the trip to suit me. He was prompt to reply, too.

The bikes were in solid shape, with decent tyres — nothing worse than touring on a ropey rustbuckets held together by string and wishful thinking. In fact, one of the reason I'm seriously considering coming back for one of their off-road tours is seeing the pristine CRFs (?) in their warehouse, with spanking new tyres.

The bike I rented came with panniers and a top box, which took the faff out of packing. They stored my suitcase at the warehouse while I was out on tour. Optional extras like a seat cushion and riding gear were available too — thoughtful touches that should be handy if you're a lazy git and don't want to pack your own gear.

Our guide, Dave, was a top bloke. Easy-going, ego-free, and clearly knows the region like the back of his hand. He set a relaxed, enjoyable pace and was just plain good company.

Admin was seamless — submit your paperwork beforehand, then just show up, gear up, and ride.

I’d recommend Thai Bike Tours if you’re looking to explore Northern Thailand on two wheels. And you should, because it's gorgeous, the roads are blissful and why the hell else did you get a bike licence if you don't want to ride in Motorcycle Nirvana? Nike rules apply here: just do it. And I'd do it with Thai Bike Tours again.

The people of Thailand are amazing, so friendly and welcoming, the scenery around Northern Thailand is breathtaking and with our guide Tui who is very knowledgeable and easy to get along with.

Well maintained Honda bikes, great selection of off road trails, lovely twisties on the road sections, and amazing scenery.
As tourists we just turned up each of the 5 days and enjoyed the riding. Alan and his team took care of everything 🤩
